The primary and most common motivation for an individual to explore personal development would be to identify, carefully plan and ultimately carry out a definite purpose. Many consider definiteness of purpose to be the overwhelming driver of ultimate, peaceful, success.
What is Success
An individual who lives their life in complete harmony with and to a definite life goal is considered to be successful, regardless of their financial means. It is well documented that America’s social workers for instance are not rewarded with monetary riches however, they do live life with a definite purpose and that purpose would be sorely missed had they not existed. I think it would be safe to say that these people live rich, successful and wealthy lives.
Conversely, there are instances throughout history where people have found great commercial success without achieving commensurate personal enhancement. Many of these instances have proven to end in very grave and very sad circumstances. If you have ever heard of a lottery winner who has squandered a fortune you understand what I mean by grave and sad. Charles Schwab, once one of the wealthiest people in the world, spent the last five years of his life broke and destitute. One of the great historical truths is that, money and riches always finds its way back to its rightful owner.
An individual would seek to improve themselves, on an intellectual level, for many reasons. In order to evaluate a few of these reasons one would have to determine whether their intentions were of a commercial or non-commercial nature. Many people turn to personal development for fulfillment in both areas of their lives. In order to achieve true success, success that is long lasting, an enlightened individual knows that he or she would need to improve as a person and then they would improve as a wealth creator. However, please do keep in mind; wealth creation is not always the primary motivation for personal improvement.
Growth for Wealth
If wealth creation is your primary motivation, please do take note, wealth creation alone does not constitute success. True success lies in a very basic premise; please attempt to contact me in the event you feel I am wrong. I have met many men who would trade all their riches for one single, simple but fantastic life component, that component is freedom. True freedom on an intellectual level can be different for each person and I don’t think it’s necessary to explain what freedom is here.
Throughout history people have traded everything for this precious and spectacular life component. If you have ever met a person who emanates no, I mean no, negative energy or vibration well then; you have met a person who lives their life on a purely free plain of existence that virtually all intellectually aware humans seek. In all my years as a person who sought such a beast I have only met a few, maybe a handful.
This ultimate plain of free existence is the great goal, it is the ultimate goal, a level of awareness and enlightenment that very few are able to realize. To lighten things up a bit, please be aware that most of us non-alien life forms can be very intellectually successful without having achieved such a level of near deity. Yes, most of us will have to simply settle for great, great at home with our families, great at work among our colleagues, great in the boardroom and great on a spiritual level. This level of greatness is where I wish to take you; I don’t claim to be great now however, I know that as I ride with you into the height of thought we will, grow great together.
How do I know this? Because I know that this is my definite purpose and I know that definiteness of purpose is the key to freedom and to greatness. Having said this, I would like to pose a question to you. What is your purpose? If you cannot clearly and concisely answer this fundamental question please do allow me to live my purpose and assist you while you, identify yours.
